"Don't worry... he's armless."

Ty lost his arm today.

Thankfully due to recent technological and medical developments he's been able to go on living a happy and normal life.

Spaghetti-Nado

Today Ty made spaghetti by himself for the first time!!
Here is his recipe immortalised :

Ty discovered that if you wanted to stir the pasta, you could create a whirlwind effect in the water to keep it spinning without you having to do it yourself.

This was Ty's first ever time cutting an onion! Tears were shed.

And we learnt why...

Onions produce the chemical irritant known as syn-propanethial-S-oxide. It stimulates the eyes' lachrymal glands so they release tears.

The process goes as follows:
  1. Lachrymatory-factor synthase is released into the air when we cut an onion.
  2. The synthase enzyme converts the amino acids sulfoxides of the onion into sulfenic acid.
  3. The unstable sulfenic acid rearranges itself into syn-ropanethial-S-oxide.
  4. Syn-propanethial-S-oxide gets into the air and comes in contact with our eyes. The lachrymal glands become irritated and produces the tears!

"Spaghrtti-Nado!!" Ty said while twisting his pasta.
