Hi everyone, this is Eniko here. I have been travelling for more than six months now and I have spent a month now with the Garces family in this lovely place, having a lot of fun with the boys. My first couple of days were spent doing various interesting experiments, we made a zootrop, talking about how the fast movement of pictures creates motion picture, we created a screaming balloon and we spent a lot of time trying to find the best possible types of paper planes and glides, comparing them to each other.
Since I have spent most my life working with animals, we took the opportunity to talk about animal behaviour, watching episodes of the Dog Whisperer, and creating home made toys and tunnels for the lovely guinea pigs, watching which ones they preferred. Oli has a book called Poos and Clues, and we were using it a lot looking for animal tracks in the woods. Identifying the songs of birds with the help of an app Emily has found was nice too.
Other days we were busy making loom bands (mostly for each other :) ), colouring or playing lego. I was also amazed by all the good programmes you can find on TV, like Horrible History and Blue Peter, and we have watched a great series called Natures Miracle Orphans.

We have done quite a lot of creative things, this picture of our beloved Smithy Pond was made by Ty and our 5 year old neighbour friend, Ewan.
Examining coins from various countries was a great opportunity to practice Math a little and the boys have a world map puzzle, which was fun and interesting too.

My boyfriend, Jobst joined us for two weeks too, which allowed us to do more boy stuff too. :) We have built another den next to the old one and this was the first time Oli used a saw. It was so much fun! I hope they will continue expanding them to a village.
Fighting on the trampoline was the perfect way of exercising for everyone - Eva, the dog loved it too! :)
But the best part of home schooling for everyone was that we have the chance to spend more and more time outside. On a beautiful sunny day one of the boys had the brilliant idea to have a picnic breakfast by the lake and we ended up staying there the whole day, watching nature, talking, colouring and reading. What made it even better was that Oli decided to surprise us by baking a cake completely on his own and served it exactly at sunset, which made a wonderful day even better.
